A Notice of Violation in relation to the habitability of one’s unit can be issued as a result of a filed complaint with a public entity, such as code enforcement agencies. After a violation is found, the inspector will issue a Notice of Violation to the property owner or agent.
Generally, the Notice of Violation will provide the landlord with a description of the violations, required repairs, and a date when the violations need to be remediated by.
